Time for an updated Totally Rad post... As I've mentioned, over the past few month I've discovered some products that became part of my daily beauty routine. Lately, along with some other great products, I've been using a lot of Kiehl's, their line is one of the more affordable ones and made from all natural ingredients.Read More
Some of these products I'm about to tell you guys about, I've used for years and swear by and some I just recently discovered and wanted to share them with you.
First thing, I've been using for years and will continue using probably for the rest of my life. Dove original soap bar. Many years ago I kept having really annoying allergic reactions (around my lady bits, sorry, super personal). After speaking with my Doc, she advised me to toss all of my Bath and Body works shower gels (tears) and switch to this soap. Turns out I'm highly allergic to any soap that has fragrance in it but ever since I've made the switch, I have not had any annoying issues. I'm also really bad about putting on lotion after shower, so this little bad ass soap takes care of that too as it is packed with moisture.
Just as any other girl, I love fragrance (just not in my soap apparently). I like to wear a scent that reflect my mood, but lately I've been loyally sticking to Jo Malone's Orange Blossom and Pomegranate Noir. I love mixing these two, one (orange) has this settle sweetness about it, more of a feminine scent, while the other (pomegranate) is a musky, masculine aroma. The two really complement each other in a yin yang kinda way. Pop into your local Neiman Marcus and ask a Jo Malone representative to make you a sample of these two to see how you like it.
OK so this one I'm crazy exited about. YSL Couture Brow. I'm always on a hunt for a brow pencil, powder, gels and what ever other form this stuff comes in. And there are some products that I liked more than others but most of them still make the brow look caked on or drawn on. So when I read about the Couture Brow in Cosmopolitan, I ran straight out the door to buy it. It comes in a mascara like tube and goes on about the same. But what I love about, it is a very natural look. You are not drawing the color onto your skin but rather applying it onto the hairs, again same concept as a mascara. The small brush grabs all of the baby hairs around too, for a fuller look. Of course you could go easy on the brush strokes for more settle day look. But I love a dramatic brow so i like to apply a couple of coats. Best part is... this guy is only $35, for YSL I consider that a steal!
(I should probably add that I love a messy brow look. Not sure how this would work with a clean cut structured brow, but let me know if that is something you want to see.)
On to the lips. Sensai cellular performance total lip treatment. I put this stuff on every night before bed. By morning my lips not only feel smoother, softer but also plum. Which is what sold me. Yes there are products out there that will give you that soft smooth feeling, like ChapStick or EOS. Sensai total lip treatment promotes production of collagen and improves it's quality which gives you a fuller, plummer, younger pout. (Hell maybe I'll start putting this stuff all over my face)
If there is any beauty product that I hate, it is scented lotion. Most of them are way to strong and you end up walking around smelling like a cheap old man, you know the kind you have to take a few steps back from. And I'm talking about cheap lotions from a drug store to the crazy expensive name brands... They are ALL too strong. So imagine my surprise when I tried a sample of Tokyo Milk's Dead Sexy #06. OMG! I don't even know how to describe this smell. It's like heaven and hell rolled into one. The name is perfect... its DEAD SEXY. (I like to put a little on when I'm trying to be seductive. wink wink) Seriously, if no other products interest you, please try this one. You will fall in love. It's like damn catnip to a cat.
And of course I have to throw in some tech toys. I know that marble had been sooo overplayed but honestly, I just can't get enough. If I had my way my whole pad would be a marble palace. But for now I'll just stick to my iPhone and macbook covers. The iPhone case I got off of Amazon but the macbook cover I sort of DIYed. It's really simple... I already had marble contact paper (seriously obsessed) and just got a clear cover to apply it to. Cheap and easy and I love it!
Let me know if you guys try any of these and what you think. Do you have any products that you can't leave without? Tell me about them.
