Carrot juice smoothie with Turmeric and Ginger

     I love me a good smoothie. They can be super tasty and healthy at the same time. For those of you who know me well, you know I don't have the greatest relationship with food. I'm a lazy eater so to speak. I love a good meal, just don't like to put in the effort into making it (#lazy). Smoothies however are crazy easy to make, no pots and pans needed and I can get most of the nutrients and vitamins I need. This one I just love. It has a zingy sweet taste and is loaded with tons of health benefits.

  • Ginger - Anti-inflammatory, stomach soother, pain reliever, lowers blood sugar and (this is a huge one ladies) helps with menstrual cramping...
  • Carrots - Improves vision, slows down aging (WHOA), vitamin A packed which helps to cleanse the body.
  • Bananas - Mood booster, rich with fiber, high in antioxidants, energy booster...
  • Pineapple - Antioxidants, packed with vitamin C, anti-inflammatory, helps regulate digestion...
  • Turmeric - Powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, osteoarthritis pain relief...
  • Lemon - Skin brightener, vitamin C, helps balancing body's pH levels, liver detoxifies, neutralizes free radicals...
  • Almond milk - Heart, skin, bone health, helps with digestion and weight management...

Combine the ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup carrot juice
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 banana (frozen/fresh)
  • 1 cup pineapple (frozen/fresh)
  • 1tbs lemon juice
  • 1tbs minced ginger
  • 1/4tbs turmeric
  • and a pinch of cinnamon


Blend all of the ingredients in a blender, I use a 900watt Nutri Ninja. And there you have it... Energy and mood booster, inflammation fighting, body cleansing little bad ass drink. Enjoy!
